If there is one thing the boyfriend and I enjoy most, it’s food. We are always eating out. Always. For our 2nd anniversary, we planned on trying out Something Fishy’s breakfast buffet but we hear that Banchetto Araneta Center would be opening on September 21st (the same day of our anniversary date) and we couldn’t resist to try.
So what is Banchetto?
Banchetto was derived from the Italian word, which means a “feast”. It is the FIRST OVERNIGHT STREET FOOD FIESTA held weekly right in the MIDDLE of the Street! Born on February 2006, it is a project commissioned to us by the Ortigas Center Association (OCAI) and Rotary Club of Ortigas Center (RCOC) with its main purpose is to promote the Ortigas Center Tourism Council.
Banchetto is an Overnight Food Fiesta with a cutting-edge dining experience in a distinct ambiance. It’s initial target market were the employees of BPO companies, which holds office in the Ortigas Center. With our growing business, its popularity has also tapped the Residents of nearby cities, families from as far as Cebu, Pampanga, Batangas, Davao, etc., Foreigners, and Balikbayans.
Banchetto aspires to become “One of the Philippines’ Tourist Destination.” It has been featured in many TV Programs for local and cable networks, blogs, leading newspapers and magazines.

Here are some of the food selections found at Banchetto:

Inihaw galore! Isaw, barbecue, liempo, hotdog, hungarian sausages etc. We really wanted to buy isaw but it’s too expensive. Haha.

Rice meals at P70 to 100.

Crêpe! Yuuummmm.

More rice meals!

Me: Kuya, pwedeng picturan yung lechon?
Kuya nagtitinda: *poker face*

There were more stalls that I wasn’t able to photograph: some stalls sell pasta, foreign cuisine rice meals, empanada, bagnet rice, shawarma etc.
After visiting all the stalls, we finally decided on what and where to order our food.

Look at our cute faces while waiting for our orders :P

We ordered Mixed Seafood with Aligue (P75) from Luigi’s Mixed Rice and Watermelon Jelly Shake (P60). And because we are such a couple, we ordered the same thing. Ahahaha.

The mixed rice is a very large order. I couldn’t finish it so I gave my boyfriend around half of my share.

For round 2, we both ordered Ilocos special empanada (P75) which tastes like the ones we ate in Batac during our Ilocos trip!

And finally for desert we ordered crêpe!

It was also fun to watch how they make it. I want to make my own! Now, where can I get that wood thing?

I chose Mango Bango flavor (P85). The crêpe was really hot so the whipped cream on top melted.

We definitely had fun during our date. We ate a lot and had so much fun looking at all the other food we would like to eat. I believe we already have a list of the food we should try the next time we come back.
If you want to try the Banchetto experience, below are the current locations and schedules! Go try Banchetto now!
